Crime Alert      Posted January 18, 2008

The only time the CRIME ALERT link appears on our website is during times of increased and persistent criminal activity in or near our neighborhood.  This condition is currently in effect due to the following:

Vehicle Burglaries

Please be on the look out for our vehicle burglary suspect.  He is a black male, 38 years old, 6’3”, 250lbs with very short hair, balding, and a receding hairline.  He wears dark clothing and walks our streets typically between 1 and 3am.  He doesn’t carry burglary tools and only enters unlocked vehicles.  He takes anything he can, including loose change, cell phone chargers, and sunglasses.  Call 911 immediately and report a vehicle burglary suspect if you see him.  Please also leave a message on our voice mail system if you see him or if your vehicle is burglarized.  Please help the police build a case against this guy.

Update 2/3/2008 - This suspect has recently been seen in the neighborhood again along with a second suspect.  They were seen in a small silver compact car.  Several car windows have been broken in these recent burglaries.

Residential Burglary

We also had a residential burglary on Southwestern.  We think there may have been several people involved in the burglary.  However the only description we have is that of a white male about 50 years old, 300lbs., gray hair, gray mustache, wearing “normal” clothes -- blue jeans and a t-shirt.  He was seen in the alley behind the house the day of the burglary.  If you see anyone fitting this description or suspicious activity in an alley, please call 911 immediately.  If you can do so safely, please watch whatever is going on until police arrive.

Update 2/3/2008 - An alert neighbor saw an individual matching the above description at 10am 2/3/2008 on Chadbourne.  The man was driving an older model Ford Windstar minivan, tan in color, with a temporary paper dealer license plate number 2-19.  The van is described as somewhat beat-up and the man appears to be of "lower socioeconomic class".

1995 Ford Windstar

Please remain vigilant and call 9-1-1 if you see anything suspicious.

Updates will be posted here if any become available.
