Crime Watch

In order to assert our crime prevention measures, we rely on your membership dues.  We have three officers who patrol the area at different times, totaling anywhere from 60 to 80 hours a month.  The money we receive from membership dues goes directly to paying for these off-duty Dallas Police patrols.

As a member of the Devonshire Neighborhood Association, you will benefit from the following crime prevention programs we currently have in place.

Security Patrol Hotline
	Association members may leave a message on the voice mail system which will be received by the patrol officers.  This service is typically used by residents who are planning to be out of town and wish to let the patrol officers know.  Both members and non-members are encouraged to use this for reporting criminal activity to our patrol officers after calling 911.
Vehicle Decals
	With your paid membership, you will receive a decal for your vehicle.  This decal helps our patrol officers, especially late at night, identify those vehicles which belong in the neighborhood and those who don't.
Traffic Monitoring
	With the increasing number of motor vehicles on our streets, it is important, now more than ever, to enforce traffic safety.  Our patrol officers monitor stop signs at intersections and use radar to check for excessive speed.  Disregard for these safety standards will result in traffic citations.

In rare circumstances, our crime prevention measures may not be adequate to curtail criminal activity.  During these times, we have the full support of the Dallas Police Department and our normal patrols may be enhanced to include:

Plain-clothes officers in unmarked vehicles

Patrol officers using mountain bikes
