Lost Pets

The Devonshire Neighborhood Association has a volunteer who coordinates lost pet searches.  If you have lost or found a pet in our neighborhood, please contact Jan Hankinson at 214-363-1317.

We also have a pet registration program in place.  To register your pet, please fill out the online form below.  If a pet is found in the neighborhood, we will search our registered pets first in an attempt to determine who the owner is.  In the event the pet is not registered with us and does not have tags, our Lost Pets coordinator will attempt to locate the owner by other means.

If your pet is currently lost and you would like its description posted here, please let us know.  We will need the pet's name, pet's breed, pet's sex, distinguishing marks, owner's name, address, phone numbers (home, work, mobile), whether the pet is friendly, and any other information you believe would be helpful in finding your pet.

Please do not rely on the Devonshire Neighborhood Association as the primary means of finding your lost pet.  However, we will do our best to assist you in your search.

Steps to Take to Find Your Pet:

Losing a pet is heartbreaking.   Be sure and contact local animal control agencies and the SPCA.  Numbers and website links are listed below.

Many of the nearby veterinarians will post fliers in there offices.  You may want to call or visit local vets to inquire about your pet.  Be sure to visit the SPCA and Dallas shelters in person.  The SPCA has a list of the various shelters in the Dallas area to aid in your search.  Putting up fliers and placing ads in newspapers can also be helpful.

Of course, the best advice is prevention.  Always make sure your pet is wearing a collar with current contact information.  Ensure that your yard is secure and that gates are closed.  Spaying or neutering your pet will make him or her less likely to roam.
