Regular Trash

Trash is picked up twice a week in the Devonshire neighborhood - Mondays and Thursdays.  Trash should not be put out until 6:00 pm the evening before pick-up.

Residents who put trash cans on the street before the pick-up time or leave them out at other times are subject to fines from the City of Dallas.

Recycling

Recycling is also offered in our neighborhood and we encourage you to participate in this important program.

Several changes were made to the recycling program in late 2005.  These changes have increased the types of items which may be recycled and have made the process a bit more convenient for us.

It is no longer necessary to separate recyclables by type.  You may place all your recyclable items in the Big Blue Roll Cart.  Your items will be picked up, either curb-side or in your alley on Monday.  Be sure to have your recyclables out before 7:00 am.

Items accepted for recycle pick up include:

Paper

  • Paperboard
  • White & colored office paper
  • Junk mail
  • Milk cartons and drink boxes
  • Telephone books
  • Newspaper & brown paper bags
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Magazines & catalogs

    Plastic

  • #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #7 plastic bottles and jugs

    Glass

  • Colored and clear glass

    Aluminum & Other Metals

  • Steel, tin, & aluminum cans

Please wash out plastic and glass containers and only submit the recyclable items mentioned above.  Hazardous chemical containers should not be recycled.  If your items are too dirty or not on the list of approved materials, they will simply be discarded.

For more information, please visit the sanitation section of the City of Dallas Website.

Computers, cell phones and other electronic components contain a variety of hazardous materials.  When they reach the end of their useful life, they should either be disposed of properly or recycled.  Below is a list of facilities authorized to accept this and other types of hazardous material.
